Lualdi, Italy

Design made in Italy

At Lualdi, we design bespoke doors, systems, and furnishings for interiors in residential, business, and hotel settings. From a time-established partnership forged with architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni, in the 1960s, the company has focussed constantly on experimentation and research into the materials and finishes used to construct the spaces of everyday life. Over the years, this impressive level of creative and technological experimentation has brought Lualdi into collaborations with some of the world’s most influential contemporary architects.

"Design means function and cultural content. When the function disappears, the cultural content remains."

A door evokes a moment in time, an action, the beginning of a story. Our story began back in 1860, when Carlo Lualdi founded the first carpentry shop in Magenta, which specialised in the creation of high-quality bespoke designs. In the second half of the 1900s, the company established a partnership with architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni that become a milestone in its history.Collaborator, mentor, and family friend, the architect paved the way for Lualdi’s business breakthrough, with the launch of a product that remains as innovative and relevant today as it was then, namely LCD. The door, with a lacquer coated polyster film, brought industrial design, for the first time in the world, into the production of doors.

Passion, quality, technological innovation, production flexibility, and environmental sustainability are the values that underpin the exclusive vision adopted by the company, now in its fifth generation.

In line with constantly-evolving lifestyles, our products express architectural scenarios in which space is transformed according to occupants’ needs. The essential design blends spontaneously with the exclusive craftsmanship, the creativity of the materials, and the potential for customisation.
